EESTI PANDIPAKEND: Dealing with trash

Image
GARBAGE DISTINCTION AND PROCESSING IN ESTONIA In this post, you will learn about how the collection of trash is encouraged in Estonia by getting the user a small refund when he/she returns an empty packaging. It works. It has been noticed in other countries like Sweden, for example. The visit to this transformation factory brought a deeper understanding of what you can get from waste when it is segregated and processed adequately. We found out as well that the south of Europe is a bit behind the north in terms of collecting and processing waste. We are improving but we must speed up. Click HERE if you like to learn more.

THE LOOFAH EXPERIENCE

Image
OPINIONS ABOUT LOOFAH After having spent several months experimenting with the use of the loofah we had grown during the summer 2023, here are a few comments about how it all worked out and what the Erasmus+ experience has been to a few of us. Click HERE to see. Enjoy!

NATURE IN ESTONIA

Image
Our mobility in Estonia was quite related to and quite developed in nature. Therefore, we visited Viru Bog, part of a National Park in Estonia which is Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO. It's a very relevant place in terms of sustainability and climate change because it stores a large amount of CO2 which mustn't be released into the atmosphere. The city also has large parks which bring fresh air and harmonious sceneries where you can relax or enjoy a walk. We visited two of these parks: Kadriorg park and Tondiraba Park to carry out a few activities using our mobile telephones and an app which showed us the route to get clues so that we could make the words which form the title of our project: Zero Waste. We composed the first word at Kadriorg and the second at Tondiraba while we were exploring the parks and their mini habitats. It was a lot of fun! And.., we learnt to follow routes. THE IMPORTANCE OF HABITATS

Image
Tallin zoo is a place which we visited during our mobility in this city last May. It was a discovery as the guide who accompanied us was explaining the important role the diversity of habitats play on planet Earth. We could also experience in a higher or lower degree sevral of them amongst which the tropical one was the most surprising to most of us. Here is a presentation about our experience at the zoo. Enjoy! First, click on READ MORE and then  CLICK HERE to see the video.

COME DISCOVER RAKETT 69

Image
Rakett 69 is located in Tallin. It is an amazing space which promotes interest on science as well as learning in a different context. By getting involved in the creation of objects, several teams compete to get a winner, which will be the best design.  The competition is well structured as you get explanations first and then get your time to create the expected item. During the construction, participants can test their works to analyse if they are being successful with their designs or not and they may also get advice from the organiser. It was fun and good learning! CLICK HERE to know the place and the activities we carried out.

TALLIN ON THE AIR: at Radio Voz

We are presenting you a nice interview we had at our local radio station in Ferrol, Radio Voz. After our Erasmus+ mobilities, we are usually invited there to talk about our experience and share it with anybody who likes to listen. We are sorry, but it's in Spanish. CLICK HERE to listen to the podcast.

This is: Secondary School Tallin Laagna Lasteaed-Põhikool

Image
Hello, I'm sharing with you a short presentation of the school we visited in our recent mobility to Tallin Estonia. It's a special school for disabled students, which we liked a lot. In the presentation you will be able to explore it a bit as well you will discover some of the activities we carried out during our stay. I considered the best one was working together in the school garden! CLICK HERE to see the presentation.

NEW LIFESTYLES IN AN OLD TOWN

Image
Here is a presentation of how a town which is Patrimony of Humanity (Tallin in Estonia) because of its old town is adapting itself to fight against environmental problems and climate change by introducing new ways of making clothes and accesories. We visited these two interesting places: Reet Aus and Stella Soomlais, located in a small spot in a decayed part of them which is being transformed to get a "new modern space". We could learn a lot about making clothes with old used fabrics as well as about the leather manufacturing of items which can be adapted to different uses. CLICK HERE to see the presentation.
