MAPPING THE AREA OF A NEARBY PARK.

  Vittorio Rioda April 30, 2024 at 7:00 AM Istituto Sanmicheli - Verona Our project intends to map the area of ​​a park located near the school - with the use of a small drone and a camera installed on a height-adjustable pole - georeference the individual images and combine them into a single rectified image (DXF). This image will become the basis for placing the spatial distribution of waste in the area. We will subsequently try to do a spatial analysis and obtain information about the habits of people attending this area (Q-Gis) and then compare different areas around our school. The final aim of all the activity is to raise awareness and respect for the environment.

A good connection of flights between Santiago de Compostela and Bergamo allowed us to visit this beautiful city last February 2024 on our trip to Verona. Orio al Serio, the way the airport is called, was our arrival place in Italy. As it was early in the morning, after a night flight, we decided to take a bus to the city centre to explore this Patrimony of Humanity wonderful place. After a short trip, we left our luggage at lockers in the nearby bus station and took a connecting bus (included in the fare from the airport bus) to the upper part of town, enclosed behind the Venetian Walls which surround it. We explored the old town and discovered its hidden treasures, which we loved.   After having lunch in a small restaurant in one of the typical squares, we had our last glance at the city and started or way back to the station, where we would take a regional train to get to our final destination in Verona.
