JOBSHADOWING EXPERIENCE at Collège Le Russeau, in La Rivière, Reunion Island

In April 2024, I visited Collège Le Russeau in Reunion Island in order to carry out a jobshadowing mobility, which is part of the project we are running at the moment at school: KA121 Zero Waste included in Erasmus+. Here is my personal vision of the experience which I wish you will like. First click on READ MORE and then click again on  CLICK HERE to see.

Mysterious Modern Tallin

Image
Last May, me and some classmates visited Tallin. Invited to  Tallinna Laagna Lasteaed-Põhikool, in the outskirts of Tallin, as part of an Erasmus+ KA121 project called Zero Waste, we could discover and enjoy the nice atmosphere of the city as well as the kindness of its people. We really enjoyed our stay and could explore both the new town,  being captivated by the stylish new buildings which have kept a part of their old structure in the outside to recall their origin ,  and the old town with its colourful ancient houses, walls, towers, churches and hidden alleys.  We also investigated how Tallin is facing ecological transition and were surprised at how many ecological options they have: tram, electric buses, bikes and so on. By visiting a trash processing factory we learnt a lot about different objects and materials that you can get from different types of rubbish: plastic, metat, cardboard... We did not know what to expect from the country, its people and culture ...

European Capital of Culture: Tartu 2024

Image
May 2024 was the time when we had our mobility in Tallin, Estonia. Because of convenient flight connections, we arrived a day before the activities at school in Tallin started. As we had a free day and Tartu was not really far away from Tallin we decided to spend some of our own budget in visiting the city and... there we went. Being the European Capital of Culture we knew we would find interesting things to see and so it was. Here is a small presentation of our experience. Click HERE to see. PHOTO Gallery, click here.

REUNION ISLAND: A MARVEL IN THE INDIAN OCEAN

Image
This was the opportunity of my life: Visiting Reunion Island! Located in the Indian Ocean and with a size a bit bigger than Tenerife, it's also reallly high, with an altitud which reaches 3070 metres above sea level, making it the highest peak in this Ocean. As a teacher working in Erasmus+ programmes, I enrolled on a course in Reykjiavik last October 2023 related to the topic of our project: the care for the environment and looking for new solutions to our old pollution problems. During the course, I met a teacher. She looked very nice and by what she explained about her school I immediately thought it fit our needs in a very suitable way. We started talking and she was also interested in our work so we agreed I could come and visit her school in April 2024. After a terrible 11 hour non-stop flight from Paris to St. Denis, the capital city of Reunion, flying with a company I had never heard of (French Bee, which felt a bit funny, but was cheap and convenient), I eventually arrived...

Project Zero Waste - Sweden week - Valsätraskolan

Image
On October 2nd, Valsätraskolan in Sweden had the honor to host the first week in our zero-waste project. It was a week full of new experiences, friendships and learning outcomes. Our idea for this week was to have a mix between field trips to different places in our nearby area and workshops in school.  This is what happened in Uppsala:  Monday All our guests came to the school in the morning. After a welcomes peech from our principal we had some team building activities at the school. In Sweden all students get free school lunch so we had lunch at school before we took a walk downtown for the afternoon activities.  Here is the Swedish team:  Afternoon: City tour in old town Uppsala with mixed groups and tasks to complete around town.  Here is the whole group in Uppsala botanical garden:  Tuesday Bus from Uppsala to Eskilstuna First, we visited Retuna secondhand shopping mall. There we got a showing of the mall and the history behind it. Then, t...
