AN AMAZING VISIT TO TEKNISKA MUSEET.

Image
This amazing museum, located in Stockholm, with lots of interactive activities allows you to take a look at what our future will be like. Looking for a way to reduce our carbon footprint on the environment we learnt about new ways to grow vegetables in liquid instead than in soil (hydroponic ones) and learnt as well about the Zero cities of the future, investigating how we can contribute to this goal. We even tried crickets, which tasted very nice! CLICK TO WATCH THE VISIT.

Retuna Second-hand Mall

Image
ReTuna, located in Skilstuna, near Uppsala, in Sweden is an amazing huge second-hand shop, selling many different kinds of items in a very good state of preservation. They gather the diversity of objects which people donate, separate them into different categories and, then, these items are sold or donated to schools, contributing to the community wellfare. This initiative surprised us because of its really good organisation as well as because of the huge amount of items that they manage. It should be a model to many countries and cities, for example our own! To learn a bit more about ReTuna, CLICK HERE .

My Experience Growing Loofah.

Image
Hi, my name's Adriana and I would like to share with you my experience in growing loofah at home. When our teachers delivered amongst us the small loofah plants that we had planted from seeds and started growing at school, I felt kind of anxious and defenceless because I had never been able to grow a plant before. In fact, I assume I used to be like a plant killer before loofah came home. As I was a bit frightened I had frequent looks at it to check its state an health. As time went by, I started to relax a bit an eventually became fond it. Following the whole growth of the plant, I was really enthusiastic as I saw how the flowers became fruits, then started growing a lot and, in the end, started drying themselves. That was the time for the harvest! Now, I can say that I'm able to grow a plant and even more, one which is really productive as we've got great natural scourers or sponges. Why don't you try? Have a look at the story if you like! CLICK HERE. If you prefer to...

The Commitment of Swedish Schools towards the Environment.

Image
When last October we had the opportunity to visit Valsätraskolan in Uppsala, Sweden, we found out that Swedish schools and Sweden  in general are quite commited to the care for the environment. Through different workshops, we were investigating different issues focused on this topic and learnt, for example, how a city can be sustainable and which characteristics make it environmentally friendly. Here is a little presentation of the work carried out. CLICK TO READ.
